Buying for a care setting? If your volume outgrows retail pack sizes, get in touch about trade pricing — we supply care homes and domiciliary care providers directly.

What 1,000–1,200ml actually means

That is the total volume a single pad will hold. For context, the standard overnight range used across UK home care sits between 1,000ml and 1,500ml, while anything under 1,000ml is generally treated as light or daytime cover only. iDEVISE pads are specified for full-night use.

One caveat worth understanding, because almost no brand explains it: capacity is measured in laboratory conditions with the pad flat and unweighted. In a real bed, with body weight pressing down, what actually determines whether you get a leak is how fast the pad absorbs and how well it spreads liquid sideways rather than letting it pool. That is the job of the diffusion layer, and it matters more than the headline number.

Our buying guide goes through this properly, along with sizing, backing types and the positioning mistake behind most night-time leaks.
